Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. Traditionally celebrated on February 22—Washington’s actual day of birth—the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents past and present. Grass Lake Jr. Equestrian Team Meeting Announced
Any girls or boys in 5th-8th grade that are interested in joining the JR Equestrian Team: There will be a team meeting and sign up on March 5th at the Depot from 2pm-5pm. The high School team will be there to answer questions and help. Some horse experience is helpful but not necessary. Coach Shortz Rides in the Inaugural Parade
Congratulations to Grass Lake's Equestrian Coach and Jackson County Mounted Deputy, Sheila Shortz, who represented the Lenawee County Mounted Division as a part of the Michigan's Multi Jurisdictional Mounted Police Drill Team and Color Guard that rode in the Presidential Inaugural Parade on Friday, January 20. Jr. Equestrian Team Completes First Season
The Grass Lake Jr. Equestrian Team completed its first season with a competition at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds in Adrian on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Jr. Equestrian Team Heads for Competition
Today the Jr Equestrian Team for Grass Lake will be leaving with their horses for the first meet. We have worked very hard to get to this meet. Please come to support the team at the first JR EQ team meet in a long time. We will be Showing all day Saturday June 4th. It starts at 8 am and runs till the last class is over? We will be at 602 Dean St. Adrian MI, 49221. Wish Them GOOD LUCK and A SAFE RIDE.

The Grass Lake High School Equestrian Team is looking for riders of all levels of experience, including no experience at all, for this fall.
